How to colour co-ordinate your outfit

I am a total sucker for colour co-ordination; I couldn’t imagine an outfit without it.

My top tip for colour co-ordinating is always look at accent colours in whichever item of clothing you would like to use.

For example, in the shirt I am wearing today I looked at the feature colours; the embroidery is both red and green. I then looked for items in my wardrobe that matched either the shade of red or the shade of green.

This green skirt is practically a perfect match for the shade of the leaves on my sheer shirt.

Once I have two items of clothing which match, I then revolve the rest of my outfit around them. For example, I wore my cream fur coat as it is a pale shade and matches anything. I then wore my black shoes and black tights – these are subtle and allow them to match my colourful outfit.

What are your tips on how to colour co-ordinate?

Thanks for reading!
