For when you need to get away – my stay at the Aloft Excel

Sometimes all you need is a little getaway and some quality time with your loved one in order to replenish and refresh. Relaxation is a brilliant outlet for stress.

This week I stayed the Aloft hotel, it’s located on the River Docklands and is placed right next to the Excel. The area surrounding the hotel is incredible; it’s extremely quiet however less than a 10 minute walk away there is a a strip of restaurants, pubs and bars.

The views from our room were phenomenal; we stayed on the 8th floor and had the choice of having either a river view or a city view. Of course we chose the city view, but it obviously depends on your taste.

The rooms were just so cushty, with dim lighting and a super comfy bed – I can assure you that I well and truly slept like a baby. The decor was uber cute too which is always a ‘must have’ in my eyes when booking a hotel room.

Most importantly, our bathroom was honestly so lush. The most important thing in my eyes when choosing which hotel to stay at, is how clean is the bathroom? Is it modern? I consider many things revolving around the bathroom (maybe a little strange, I know) – Aloft Excel definitely ticked all the boxes in terms of fulfilling my clean, modern bathroom dreams.

My favourite aspect of the hotel was the pool; it was extremely chilly in London on both days that we visited and believe me when I say the room of which the pool in warmed us up. The room in itself was so warm, and the pool also was as warm as anything. It was an incredible beautiful setting; it came with a sauna, a shower and a steam room.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Aloft hotel; I personally can’t stop ranting and raving about it to my friends and family. I would most definitely stay again.
